Am I Ethical?

The most frequently violated word in our day to day life “Ethics”.
What makes you feel that you are Ethical?
Who will govern our actions, Legislation or our Ethics?

Building ethical behavior involves following steps:
Step 1: Education
Education is not about scoring an A+ Grade throughout the curriculum. Education is simply learning. Basic Education did not help us to get educated, as it was laid on us by our parents. Education should have helped us learn Values. Values that included understanding Legislation, Norms, Religion, fundamentals, etc. This Value Education process went on till our last qualification.

Step 2: Morals
In the process of education and attaining values, we developed Morals. Our understanding of values helped in formulating moral values for each of us individually. Morals act as a rule book for every individual. In simple words “Governing factors”.

Step 3: Ethics
Morals help in controlling our Ethics. Ethical behavior can only be dependent on the morals that you set for yourself. Being ethical is not just restricted to what you feel is right or wrong, but it is about being ethically correct considering the society. And if you think you care a damn about the society, then it surly is a mutual feeling.

“So, if you break/disobey rules laid down by our Constitution then You are Un-Ethical. The reason is that you haven’t set rational morals for yourself, which in turn reflects you EDUCATIONAL Values. “
